On March 24, of this year I sent the following email to the FAA regarding a statement in an New York Observer Article:
Gentlemen, I recently read an article in the NY Observer stating that theLa Guardia air traffic control tower ordered the media helicopters coveringSpitzer's resignation, to limit their footage time to 10 minutes. Is thistrue? Under what circumstances are the Air Traffic control towers allowedto make these types of orders? I have been trying to assist our localneighborhood with the ongoing problem of hovering news helicopters. Anyinformation you can provide would be helpful. Please advise.
Today, I received this response:
Sorry for the delayed response. These was [sic] related to safety concerns, asmultiple [sic] helicopters requested to get into the area.
